“After a successful 35-year career as a professional musician, I retired in 1995. My wife, Lori, and I then moved to Seattle. For the past 20 years I have been working as a tour-guide and amateur historian in Seattle’s historic Pioneer Square neighborhood.
During my research of Seattle’s history, it became very apparent that the Klondike gold rush was an extremely important factor in the development of modern-day Seattle. I found hundreds of amazing stories and strange facts that turned a struggling, depressed town into a wild and rowdy 24-hour-a-day 'adult circus' for the better part of a decade.
After years of studying Seattle’s substantial role in the gold rush, I decided to go to Dawson City, Yukon – the heart of the Klondike gold fields. I wanted to study the Canadian role in the Gold Rush. The very professional and spirited people of Parks Canada, Dawson City, took me in and fanned the flame of curiosity into a fire. I was hooked.
These stories needed to be told, and the ‘Seattle Untamed Tour’ was born.
After giving thousands and thousands of tours, I wanted to put together a tour that is both entertaining and educational. I hope that I’ve succeeded.”
